New Exhibition “Expanding Frontiers: The Jack and Susy Wadsworth Collection of Postwar Japanese Prints” a opens at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Fall
EUGENE, Ore. -- (August 26, 2015) –More than 110 modern and contemporary Japanese prints will be on view in “Expanding Frontiers: The Jack and Susy Wadsworth Collection of Postwar Japanese Prints,” a new exhibition organized by the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon. On view from October 3, 2015, to January 3, 2016, the exhibition opens with a free reception on Friday, October 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Annual “Art in the Attic” Fundraiser Returns to Oakway Center Heritage Courtyard
EUGENE, Ore. -- (August 18, 2015) – “Art in the Attic,” an annual fundraiser for the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, returns to the Oakway Center Heritage Courtyard on Wednesday, August 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Art and décor from homes throughout the community will be on sale with all proceeds benefiting the JSMA’s enriching educational programs.
Jan Zach’s “Lady” is the Newest Piece of Public Art on the University of Oregon Campus
EUGENE, Ore. -- (August 13, 2015) – Visitors to the University of Oregon campus will be greeted by a new piece of public art, Jan Zach’s sculpture “Lady.” Donated to the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in 2014, the 14-foot-tall, painted steel sculpture is located on the lawn between Prince Lucien Campbell and Condon Halls.

Renowned Photographer Gustavo Germano Examines the Absences Caused by Dictatorships in South America
“Ausencias,” translated Absences, is on view at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art through August 16, 2015
EUGENE, Ore. -- (April 30, 2015) – In the exhibition “Ausencias,” Argentine photographer Gustavo Germano restages snapshots of Brazilian and Argentine families whose loved ones are among the “disappeared,” people who were tortured and murdered by dictatorial regimes in South America from the 1960s to 1980s. On view through August 16, 2015, the installation includes four diptychs of original and recreated photographs, with one or more of the original subjects missing.
