New Exhibition “Expanding Frontiers: The Jack and Susy Wadsworth Collection of Postwar Japanese Prints” a opens at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Fall

EUGENE, Ore. -- (August 26, 2015) –More than 110 modern and contemporary Japanese prints will be on view in “Expanding Frontiers: The Jack and Susy Wadsworth Collection of Postwar Japanese Prints,” a new exhibition organized by the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon. On view from October 3, 2015, to January 3, 2016, the exhibition opens with a free reception on Friday, October 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Annual “Art in the Attic” Fundraiser Returns to Oakway Center Heritage Courtyard

EUGENE, Ore. -- (August 18, 2015) – “Art in the Attic,” an annual fundraiser for the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, returns to the Oakway Center Heritage Courtyard on Wednesday, August 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Art and décor from homes throughout the community will be on sale with all proceeds benefiting the JSMA’s enriching educational programs.

Contemporary Street Artists X-O and Amanda Marie Make their Mark on Eugene

“The Many Places We Are” opens at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art on May 9 with a talk and reception at 2 p.m.

EUGENE, Ore. -- (May 4, 2015) – Street artists X-O and Amanda Marie are making their mark on Eugene with a site-specific installation, “The Many The Places We Are,” at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and a mural project with The Three Muses and The Gallery at the Watershed on the WaterShed Building at Third and Mill.

The JSMA exhibition is on view from May 9 to August 9, 2015, and opens with a talk and reception on Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m.

Renowned Photographer Gustavo Germano Examines the Absences Caused by Dictatorships in South America

“Ausencias,” translated Absences, is on view at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art through August 16, 2015

EUGENE, Ore. -- (April 30, 2015) – In the exhibition “Ausencias,” Argentine photographer Gustavo Germano restages snapshots of Brazilian and Argentine families whose loved ones are among the “disappeared,” people who were tortured and murdered by dictatorial regimes in South America from the 1960s to 1980s. On view through August 16, 2015, the installation includes four diptychs of original and recreated photographs, with one or more of the original subjects missing.
