Artsbridge
Artsbridge at the University of Oregon, part of the ArtsBridge America network, partners graduate and undergraduate student scholars in the visual and performing arts with local schools to provide high-quality arts education to K-12 school children. ArtsBridge scholars are paid a stipend. For more information, please call (541) 346-6410 and complete the application form.
Internship: High School Students
World of Work is a 3-month paid internship program for high school students.
This internship is awarded to applicants from underserved populations in Lane and Linn-Benton Counties. We encourage students of marginalized communities to apply to this opportunity and offer a museum work experience in a field that many may have not known or felt was available to them.
World of Work interns will be engaged with a variety of museum departments, will experience interactive art making in the studio, and will view art in the galleries at the JSMA while working under the mentorship of museum professionals, students, and practicing artists. Students will be compensated $14.20 per hour for their internship experience, up to 50 hours.
From this program, World of Work interns will learn about the many areas for careers in museums and leave with a better knowledge of the museum as a workplace. They will gain proficient experience with different mediums of art, essential skill sets that can be applied universally, and the opportunity to have made new connections within the art industry.
