EUGENE, Ore. – (July 17, 2020) - The University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art presents “Mildred Bryant Brooks: The Art of Etching,’ a digital exhibition that explores the work of Brooks, an award-winning American etcher and master printmaker.

EUGENE, Ore. – (February 26, 2020) – After a long-awaited renovation, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon reopens its Soreng Gallery of Chinese Art with over 100 works spanning over four millennia of Chinese history from the legacy collection of museum-founder Gertrude Bass Warner (1863-1951) and selected recent acquisitions.

EUGENE, Ore. – (January 2, 2020) – Inspired by nature, Oregon artist Claire Burbridge beautifully draws magical worlds in “Pathways to the Invisible,” a new exhibition at the University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (JSMA). Jill Hartz, former JSMA executive director, curated the exhibition, which is on view from January 15 to April 19, 2020.

EUGENE, Ore. – (December 19, 2019) - On January 18, 2020, the University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (JSMA) will open “Carrie Mae Weems: The Usual Suspects.” The exhibition includes recent photographic and video works that ask, “How do you measure a life?”


About the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art

The University of Oregon's Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is a premier Pacific Northwest museum for exhibitions and collections of historic and contemporary art. The mission of the museum is to enhance the University of Oregon’s academic mission and to further the appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts for the general public. The JSMA features significant collections galleries devoted to art from China, Japan, Korea, Europe, and the Americas as well as changing special exhibition galleries. The JSMA is one of seven museums—and the only academic art museum-- in Oregon accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.

The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is located on the University of Oregon campus at 1430 Johnson Lane. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens. Free admission is given to ages 18 and under, JSMA members, college students with ID, and University of Oregon faculty, staff and students.
