Winter 2026 Ring Lecture: Roundtable: Exploring the New Global Environments Major February 13, 2026 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm $Free All Panelists: Professors Rachel DiNitto, Lanie Millar, Fabienne Moore, Dorothee Ostmeier Join us for an exciting installment of the Schnitzer School Ring Lecture as we explore the newly proposed Global Environments Major, made possible through the generous support of the Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Languages grant. This bold, humanities‑driven, interdisciplinary program invites students to explore the environment through rich, globally oriented, humanistic perspectives that reflect the full intellectual strength of the Schnitzer School. At the heart of the event is a vibrant roundtable featuring distinguished faculty from German, Japanese, and Romance Languages, each offering insight into how environmental questions shape—and are shaped by—their fields. Together, they’ll illuminate the powerful connections between culture, language, and the planet. The Global Environments Major emerges in response to growing student enthusiasm for weaving together global cultural and language study with environmental inquiry, creating a pathway that speaks to the most urgent conversations of our time.
