Mindful Looking
Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the museum with a reflective gallery experience inspired by Love, Desire, and Sorrow: Artworks from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation. Join museum educators for an hour-long program that explores the intersections of art, poetry, and contemplative practice through themes of love and connection. Participants will engage closely with selected works from the exhibition through guided observation, quiet reflection, and facilitated discussion. Together, we will consider how the artworks invite contemplation of desire, memory, and belonging, offering opportunities for personal insight and meaningful connection. This session encourages participants to slow down, be present, and experience art as a pathway to reflection and shared understanding. No previous art experience is required. All materials are provided. Space is limited; please email artheals@uoregon.edu to reserve a spot. Registration is required for participation in the program. Please sign up by Friday, February 13. Same-day registration will not be accepted. Please email artheals@uoregon.edu to reserve a spot.
