Born in Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, Rolando Rojas is inspired by the legends, stories, and myths passed down from the ancestors of the people of Tehuantepec, who believed that they descended from mystical trees and animals. In his colorful oil paintings, he portrays this mythical world and interweaves it with his present and childhood experiences. This exhibition is made possible with the generous support of the Consulate of Mexico, Portland, and the Latin American Studies program.
