NewArt Northwest Kids The Language of Art

-

NewArt Art Northwest Kids, our annual exhibition of K–12 student art, returns to the Education Corridor Galleries. This year’s theme, “The Language of Art,” explores visual images and written word intersect to create meaning. The exhibition features students’ visual depictions and considerations of what words they would use to describe themselves and who they want to be. They were also asked to think about a favorite book, song lyric, or poem and illustrate how it inspires them. Some students even took the opportunity to explore and comment on the current political climate. NewArt Northwest Kids: The Language of Art is made possible through support from the Cheryl and Allyn Ford Educational Outreach Endowment, Imagination International, Inc., and Dr. Michael Balm and Dee Carlson. Artists will be honored at an exhibition reception on Saturday, April 15, 11 a.m.–12 p.m
