Drawing on the JSMA’s Margo Grant Walsh Twentieth Century Silver and Metalwork Collection and a select number of private and museum loans, the exhibition will present a range of hand-wrought copper works by many of the premier metalsmiths working in late 19th and early 20th century Britain, the United States, and beyond.

Monica Penick is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Design at the University of Texas at Austin, where she teaches courses in design history and American modernism. She was the co-curator of The Rise of Everyday Design: The Arts and Crafts Movement in Britain and America, presented at the Harry Ransom Center of UT Austin in 2019, with a catalogue published by Yale Press.
