Classical Guitar Concert

Enjoy a free concert of classical guitar repertoire featuring Devon Kelly and Craig Einhorn.  This program is cosponsored by the Oregon Bach Festival Road Scholar Program and coordinated with Academic Extension.
 
About the performers:
 
Devon Kelly was born in Buffalo, NY in 1991. He started playing popular guitar at age fourteen and started formal studies in Classical Guitar at the State University of New York in 2011 under the tutelage of James Piorkowski. While currently pursuing his degree in Music Performance, Mr. Kelly is a member of the Fredonia Guitar Quartet. Mr. Kelly is in Eugene, Oregon as the winner of the Eugene Classical Guitar Fellowship in which one student in the studio of Jim Piorkowski is chosen to study with Craig Einhorn, classical guitarist, and resident of Eugene since 1996. Devon will be in Eugene for one week and will give several performances and learn about all aspects of the music business.
 
Craig Einhorn was born in Yonkers, New York in 1965 and started playing popular guitar at age twelve. He began formal studies at the State University of New York in 1983 under the tutelage of James Piorkowski. Mr. Einhorn was an original member of the Fredonia Guitar Quartet. In 1989 Mr. Einhorn completed his masters on full scholarship in Classical Guitar Performance at Arizona State University under the tutelage of Frank Koonce. Concurrently he was awarded a graduate assistantship in Modern Dance accompaniment at the Arizona State University Dance Department playing piano and percussion. From 1990 to present Mr. Einhorn has taught at community colleges in Arizona and after 1996 in Oregon, performed extensively throughout the USA, and recorded with two Grammy winners; Mason Williams (Classical Gas) and Shandi Sinnamon (Flashdance, the movie). Mr. Einhorn's old and new recordings are now published on itunes and include numerous albums and singles ranging in style from classical guitar, folk and early jazz songs, latin songs, and works accompanied by orchestra. Mr. Einhorn has performed as soloist with several orchestras including the Salem Pops Orchestra, the Port Angeles Symphony, the Oregon State University Orchestra, and the Oregon Mozart Players. Since 2009 Mr. Einhorn has lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a total of four years, where he performs and records music and YouTube videos with talented Argentine musicians, studies Tango Dance and Music and speaks and sings in Spanish.
