The Black Cultural Initiative presents Black Out Day at the JSMA, an afternoon of community, history and Black art. Join us for an art viewing with a focus on Isaac Julien’s Lessons of the Hour – Frederick Douglass, as well as two exhibitions from the Collection of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation, Strange Weather and Glenn LigonThis free event is a cultural gathering with a backdrop of music, hors d’oeuvres, and refreshments. Flex your artistic muscles by creating art in the JSMA studio, and indulge in a brief history lesson by local Black historians. We look forward to seeing you at this amazing event!
