Adopting sound, video, painting, sculpture, performance, textiles, and installation art, interdisciplinary artist Tania Candiani (b. 1974, Mexico City) investigates the complex interrelationships between humans and the more-than-human. With a career spanning the early 2000s through today, Candiani’s work comments on environmental concerns, indigenous rights, and feminism. Join the artist and Dr. Adriana Miramontes Olivas, Curator of Academic Programs and Latin American and Caribbean Art for this talk, organized in conjunction with the exhibit An Unfinished Journey: Embracing the Feminist City.

Candiani represented Mexico at the 56th Venice Biennial (2015). Her work has been exhibited at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City; Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver; 23rd Biennale of Sydney; XV Bienal de Cuenca, Ecuador; and Galería Albarrán Bourdais, Madrid; among others.
