Planned Gifts
It all started with a planned gift.

Gertrude Bass WarnerJust over 75 years ago, Gertrude Bass Warner bequeathed more than 3,000 works of art to the University of Oregon and her gift inspired UO supporters to build an art museum on campus. Since that time, many others have made special arrangements for the JSMA in their estate plans and the museum has grown into one of the region’s cultural treasures.

Estate gifts lay the foundation for the future of the JSMA. Consider talking to a member of the University of Oregon’s Office of Gift Planning at (541) 346-1687 to learn how you can designate the museum in your estate plan.

They can help you understand a myriad of planned giving vehicles including:

  • Planned gifts that pay you income (charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust)
  • Planned gifts that the JSMA can use today (outright, charitable lead trust)
  • Planned gifts to the JSMA after your lifetime (bequest, life insurance, retirement plans, retained life estate)

    For more information, please contact:

If you are interested in giving the JSMA a gift of art, please consult the staff directory and contact the director or a curator in the related field. Gifts of art must be reviewed by the curator and the museum’s Collections Committee prior to approval.
