Outdoor Family Film: Song of the Sea

Wednesday, August 5, 8:30 p.m.

Bring your family and friends, lawn chairs or blankets, and a picnic, and enjoy the JSMA’s fourth annual outdoor film screening on the Memorial Quad in front of the museum. This year’s selection, Song of the Sea (2014, Ireland/Luxembourg/ Belgium/France/Denmark, 93 minutes), is based on the Irish legend of the Selkies. An Academy Award-nominated film, Song of the Sea tells the story of the last seal-child, Saoirse, and her brother, Ben, who go on an epic journey to save the world of magic and discover the secrets of their past. As enthralling for adults as it is for children young and old. Cosponsored by Cinema Studies, the UO Folklore Program and Osher Lifelong Learning & Summer Session. In the event of rain, the program will be moved inside the museum.
