InFlux: A Night of Performance Art

Tue, 04/08/2014 - 5:00pm

InFlux: A Night of Performance Art is composed of a diverse collection of performances from both graduate and undergraduate students with a special guest performance by University of Oregon art instructor Ty Warren. The evening will have several scheduled events including an improvisational dance by students and faculty from the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance organized by undergraduate Hayley Shapiro exploring the theme of the event and what it means to be "in flux." There will also be several performances throughout the duration of the event including a live creation of 40 drawings by Hokey Bear, a character designed by MFA student Bryan Putnam to comment on the social and political aspects of art making, storytelling, and interactions with nature. The reception will host projections of additional student work engaging the components of performance art including time, space, and the body.
