Lecture by Geraldine Ondrizek
Sat, 11/08/2014 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm

Geraldine Ondrizek, Professor of Art at Reed College and a 2014 Hallie Ford Fellow, talks about her installation Shades of White.

Geraldine Ondrizek received her BFA from Carnegie-Mellon University and an MFA from the University of Washington. For the last twenty years, she has created architecturally-scaled works that house images and forms inspired from medical and biological information. Ondrizek’s works aim at questions of the origin of life, life cycles, and ethical issues related to genetics, as well as the possibility of unraveling genetic conditions.

From 2012 to 2013, her work traveled to NASA and the University of Houston, Florida International University, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. In 2014, her work will be shown and discussed at the Third International Conference on Transdisciplinary Imaging at the Intersections of Art, Science, and Culture to be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
