Korean Art
The Jin Joo Gallery in the Huh Wing houses selections from the museum’s Korean art collection. The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is one of only a few university museums in the United States with galleries dedicated to Korean art. The Wan Koo and Young Ja Huh Wing and Jin Joo Gallery feature historic and contemporary examples of painting, calligraphy, ceramics, textiles, furniture and photography.
The collection also features a major holding of woodblock prints by Elizabeth Keith, a Scottish artist and friend of Gertrude Bass Warner, who lived in Asia for many years, recording scenes of everyday life, first in paintings and later in traditional woodblock prints. Keith was also one of the first Westerners to depict the topography, costumes and social customs of Korea.
