Harold and Arlene Schnitzer Gallery

The Harold and Arlene Schnitzer Gallery presents art from the Northwest as well as work by 20th and 21st century nationally and internationally recognized artists. Ranging from works on paper to paintings, sculpture, ceramics and mixed media, the collection features examples by Alexander Archipenko, Leonard Baskin, Harry Bertoia, iona rozeal brown, George de Forest Brush, William Merritt Chase, Arthur Wesley Dow, Helen Frankenthaler, Morris Graves, Elsworth Kelly, David McCosh, Carl Morris, Robert Motherwell, Louise Nevelson, Robert Rauschenberg, Mark Tobey, and Peter Voulkos. A small but growing collection of Latin American art features works by contemporary Cuban and Mexican artists. The influences of local, regional, national and international ideas and cultures, the growing importance of technology, and the professional training of artists are particularly relevant to the work on view.
