The JSMA offers a variety of summer camps for the young artist. Each week concludes with an art exhibition that entire family can attend!

Tuition:
Full Day: $300 ($270 for JSMA Members/UO)
Half Day: $150.00 ($135 for JSMA Members/UO)
Aftercare: 12-1 p.m. or 4-5 p.m.  $25.00

Art and Architecture
9 am - noon
Grades 1-5; Apprentice Level Grades 6-8
Design buildings and monuments in this hands-on exploration of architecture. Gain experience drawing, designing, and building with natural objects and recycled materials.

LEGO Art and Imagination
1- 4 pm
Grades 1-5; Apprentice Level Grades 6-8
Discover all the creative possibilities you can make from LEGO blocks! Use LEGOs as an art medium to construct cityscapes, sculptures, mosaics, and more.

Week 5: August 7- 11
Passport Around the World
9 am- noon
Grades 1-5
Travel around the world using art from the JSMA collection as your tour guide! Along the way, create art souvenirs to document your journey.

Stop Motion and Cartoon Animation
1 - 4 pm
Grades 1-5
Create your own animated feature and explore Claymation and paper animation. Each student will learn how to design and create fun special effects in this interactive camp.

Week 6: August 14 -18
Make Your Mark! Exploring Drawing in Art
9 am- noon
Grades 1-5
Learn creative techniques in drawing with the basic elements of art. Experiment with mark making using a fun variety of media and materials.

Comics and Manga
1-4 pm
Grades 1-5
Explore the many aspects of comic book art and manga as you learn how to tell stories through comic strips and other graphic illustrations. Sponsored by Imagination International, Inc.

Week 7: August 21-25
Animals in Art
9 am - noon
Grades 1-5
Discover animals in art! Use the museum’s collection as inspiration to construct sculptures, textiles, costumes, papier-maché, and more.

Bricks, Blocks, and Pixels
1-4 pm
Grades 1-5
Minecraft provides the inspiration to create 2D and 3D art using LEGOS and the simple forms found in the popular video game.
